Hi, I'm Brilliant ๐Ÿ‘‹

(yes, it really is my name)

I study computer science at Waseda. I also make videos, build things, and host free listening sessions.

About

When I was a kid and people asked my dream job, I'd say "inventor." Not because I understood it - I just liked the idea of making something new. I still kind of feel that way. Right now that looks like: - building web apps - experimenting with startup ideas - filming stories - sitting with people who need someone to listen

Experience

Japan's Venture Academy (JVA)

Startups
Shipping
Storytelling

I joined because I was curious about startups and tired of just watching from the outside. Through the fellowship, I worked on building a student marketplace and spent a lot of time actually shipping instead of just talking. I also helped with content and storytelling, which felt natural because I've always liked documenting things. JVA made building feel less intimidating and more playful, and that mattered to me.

I helped grow the page to 100k+ followers. I shot, directed, and edited many videos, including the first one that passed 2M views. It was chaotic and fun. I learned how to lead small creative teams, finish things under pressure, and care about pacing and energy. It was also where I realized I didn't just want to tell founder stories, I wanted to build things myself.

Computer Science & Communications Engineering. I study CS because I want technical depth, and I stay close to creative work because I enjoy it. I don't overthink the combination.

TalentMap

TalentMap

2025

I didn't like how hiring felt like scrolling PDFs, so I built a visual map instead. TalentMap lets recruiters explore student profiles on an interactive map with clustered nodes, zoom, and hover previews - more like discovering people than scanning resumes. It has a profile builder with GitHub import, a recruiter dashboard, saved candidates, filters + export, and auth + database. It's one of the first projects where I felt like, "oh... I can actually build real things."

Minama.jp

2025

A campus-only marketplace for buying, selling, and trading textbooks, furniture, and electronics within your university. No random strangers and less waste. I worked on this through JVA and led development. It's simple, but I like simple things that people actually use.

Listening Sessions

This started from loneliness. Nothing dramatic, just noticing that most conversations are advice, not listening. So I made a small booking page and started offering free time. No coaching. No fixing. Just presence. I've probably set aside around 80 hours over the last few years just to listen. It's one of the more meaningful things I do.
